Had Lataji got married, she would be called a queen of a kingdom today. According to the media reports, Lata Mangeshkar was in love with Maharaja Raj Singh of Dungarpur royal state, best friend of her brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar.
Once after playing cricket, Raj was invited to tea at Lata’s place. This is the first time Raj Singh saw Lata and both became friends. Raj used to call her ‘Mithoo’ out of love. He always used to keep a tape recorder in his pocket, in which songs of Lata were recorded.
