UP road mishaps claim seven lives

Sonbhadra (UP): Five people were killed and six others injured after a speeding truck hit a bus and rammed into a stationary truck here, police said Wednesday. The incident took place late Tuesday night near Bairpan village under Anpara police station area.

The speeding truck hit a bus and them rammed into   another truck parked near a petrol pump, killing five persons on the spot, police station in-charge Shailesh Rai informed.

The deceased include those who were changing a tyre of the stationary truck and bus passengers. Four of them have been identified, he said.

The driver of the speeding truck fled the scene leaving his vehicle behind, Rai said.

In another road mishap in UP two men were killed when the motorcycle they were travelling on was hit by a car in Wazirganj area in Gonda district, police said Wednesday.

The incident took place Tuesday evening when Shahjot (25) and his friend Deepak (27) were hit by a car, killing them on the spot, they said.

The car driver managed to flee the scene after the incident, police said, adding a manhunt has been launched to the accused.
