Tihidi: Upset over blackout for the last six days, people of Mamanpur under this block in Bhadrak district gheraoed the Nesco office Thursday.
“Trees were flattened and utility poles were uprooted. Transformers have been damaged. But no step is being taken to restore power supply,” fumed the villagers.
They alleged that they had repeatedly intimated the problem to a JE, but nothing has been done till date.
They made a written compliant at the electrical SDO.
Reports from Taladapa Mangalsahi said a utility pole is still lying across a road, disrupting communication. Villagers met the Nesco SDO Thursday, seeking immediate removal of the pole.
They appointed out that flattened poles posed danger to cattle. JE Priyabrat Nayak said the broken pole will be replaced with a new one immediately.
