Mumbai: Navtej Hundal, who played the role of Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Vicky Kaushal’s film ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, passed away Tuesday. The exact reason behind his death is not known yet.
The Cine and TV Artists Association confirmed the news on twitter. “#CINTAA expresses its deepest condolence on the demise of Shri Navtej Hundal. May his soul Rest in Peace The cremation is at Oshiwara Crematorium, Relief Rd, Prakash Nagar, Dnyaneshwar Nagar, Jogeshwari (W) at 11 am. @sushant_says @amitbehl1 @SuneelSinha @ayubnasirkhan,” the tweet read.

The actor is survived by his wife and two daughters. Of the two Avantika is also into acting. She plays the role of Mehika in Ekta Kapoor’s serial ‘Ye Hai Mohabbatein’.
Navtej has been a party of the film industry for many years. He has appeared in character roles in a large number of films. Among them are ‘Khalnayak’, ‘Tere Mere Sapne’ and ‘The Whispers’. However, after Uri he hadn’t started shooting for any other movie. The film starring Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal and Yami Gautam collected Rs 143 crore at the domestic box office. It was released in January this year and has been directed by Aditya Dhar.
