Utkal Bharat to form alliance

Bhubaneswar: Former Lok Sabha member and Utkal Bharat chairman Kharabela Swain Friday said the state will see a mega alliance of anti-BJD forces in the coming days.
Speaking to reporters here, Swain said, “There is an undercurrent against the ruling BJD in the state. To remove the corrupt BJD government, a grand alliance of anti-BJD forces will be formed soon.”
Replying to a question, he said no discussion was held with BJP in this regard so far. “We are ready to go for an alliance with the BJP provided the party makes its stand clear and take anti-BJD stand,” Swain said and ruled out any alliance with the Congress.
BJD spokesperson Debashish Samantaray said, “Swain is not popular in his own district. His plan of forming a grand alliance will turn out to be a blunder because Baijayant Panda and Damodar Rout have lost credence after being ousted from the BJD.” “While Panda is a loner, Rout has been rejected by people of Odisha,” he pointed out.
Commenting on the issue, BJP leader Pratap Sarangi said, “In Odisha, there are three political forces BJD, BJP and Congress. These small parties don’t have any existence in the political scenario of the state.”
