Bhubaneswar: Utkal University held its first preparatory meeting to plan celebrations of its silver jubilee. The meeting saw participation of several stakeholders including the teaching and non-teaching staff, students and alumni at MKCG Auditorium in the varsity premises here Tuesday.
The meeting saw deliberation from various heads of the departments, and the vice chancellor and it was decided that the silver jubilee celebrations would span over more than 3 months during which there would be several cultural programmes, seminars, competitions and sports-related activities.
The members also discussed on how to get in contact with the old students so that they could also come and give their views for the celebration. All the dates will be finalised in the second phase of the meeting. The meeting was attended by Nayagarh MLA Arun Sahoo, Bhubaneswar North MLA Priyadarshi Mishra, vice chancellor Soumendra Mohan Patnaik, ex-president, teachers and students among several others.
