Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh): A six-year-old girl belonging to Iglas town of this district was raped about 10 days back by her cousin. The minor girl died Tuesday in a Delhi hospital. The minor girl originally belonged to Hathras. However, she had been living with her maternal aunt after her mother died last year. She was taken to Delhi for treatment after her condition deteriorated.
SSP Aligarh G Muniraj has suspended the Station House Officer of Iglas police station for laxity in arresting the accused.
The family placed the minor’s body at the Sadabad-Baldev road and staged a demonstration. They demanded arrest of the accused and his family and also the guilty police personnel.
Senior officials have reached the spot to pacify the protestors.
Uttar Pradesh in the recent past has been rocked by a number of rape incidents. The Hathras incident in which a 19-year-old Dalit woman was gang-raped by four upper caste men has outraged the nation. The men tried to strangulate the woman after raping her. She died September 29, a fortnight after she had to face the brutality September 14.
It was followed by the death of another young woman who was raped in Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh. She was returning home after getting admitted to a college. Her higher education dreams never got fulfilled.
Now comes the report of this Aligarh case which proves that the law and order situation has completely gone out of hand in the Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is promising stringent action against the accused, but that hasn’t stopped the perverts from going about their dastardly acts.
