Berhampur: Even as the Supreme Court directed the selling of crackers only by those who have obtained proper license, some traders at Kamapalli, Giri Market and Jayprakash Nagar in Berhampur town openly flouted the apex court’s ruling and sold crackers sans licenses.
According to reports, Ganjam district administration has issued license to 42 persons of Berhampur for selling crackers in temporary stalls in the town. However, some persons violated the rules and sold crackers without holding licenses.
Worth mentioning here that the Supreme Court in its ruling has barred the sale of crackers sans licenses. However, the rampant sale of crackers illegally has raised concern over the enforcement of law.
