Mumbai: Legendary actor Ravi Patwardhan passed away at 84. The actor reportedly died due to age-related health issues Sunday morning.
Ravi is known for his contributions to Hindi as well as Marathi cinema and theater.
According to reports, he was having trouble breathing since Saturday night. He was then admitted to a private hospital. However, his condition did not improve and he died Sunday morning.
The actor also suffered a heart attack earlier this year. Ravi, who mostly played Dadaji in films and TV serials, worked in more than 200 shows and more than 150 plays in his career.
Born 06 September 1937, he was known for his strong acting and engaging dialogue style.
Ravi, who started his career from the 1970s, has played different roles in many films, TV shows and plays. One of his notable Hindi films is Tezaab. The film featured Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit in the lead roles.
His other notable works include Ankush (Hindi), Ashya Asawya Suna (Marathi), Smita Patil and Girish Karnad’s Umbartha (Marathi) and Jyotiba Phule (Marathi) led by Padmini Kolhapure.
He is survived by his wife, two sons and one daughter.
