Mumbai: Veteran actress and wife of late actor Dilip Kumar, Saira Banu was admitted to Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital after she complained of blood pressure-related issues. The evergreen actress has been moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) ward of the hospital Wednesday.
Following the death of Dilip Kumar Sahab, Saira Banu is left alone and has started living ill. Both were together for the last 55 years, but the death of Dilip Kumar has separated the two.
There was a huge age gap of 22 years between Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu. Both were married in the year 1966. Saira Banu and Dilip Kumar were co-stars of films such as Sagina Mahato, Gopi, Bairaag and Duniya.
Saira Banu made her Hindi film debut in 1961 with the movie Junglee opposite late actor Shammi Kapoor. She is known for her performances in films like Padosan, Hera Pheri, Diwana, Shaadi, Purab Aur Paschim, Jwar Bhata, Aadmi Aur Insaan, Resham Ki Dori and Pocket Maar, to name a few. She was last seen in the 1988 film Faisla.
