Mumbai: Aditya Dhar’s superhit film ‘Uri (The Surgical Strike)’ gave actor Vicky Kaushal instant recognition.
Now the two and producer Ronnie Screwvala (RSVP Films) have teamed up to shoot ‘Mahabharat’ in which Vicky will play the role of ‘Ashwatthama’.
According to sources, after the success of ‘Uri’, Screwvala and Dhar want to make something bigger and interesting.
Aditya has been working on the script of this story for a long time, even before ‘Uri’ released. When Aditya approached Ronnie and Vicky for their cooperation both said yes.
The shooting of this film will begin later this year and might hit screens in mid-2020.
Significantly, Ashwatthama, who was the son of Guru Dronacharya and Kripi, had fought against Pandavas in the battle of Kurukshetra.
