Mumbai: Ranu Mondal has become a national celebrity ever since a video of her singing at a West Bengal railway station went viral on the internet.
She now performs on stage and has recorded two songs with Himesh Reshammiya for his upcoming film ‘Happy Hardy and Heer’. Wherever Ranu goes, people follow her and take selfies with her.
After Ranu’s video went viral, her daughter Elizabeth Sathi Roy, who was staying away for 10 years, reunited with her mother. A video has surfaced in which Elizabeth and mother Ranu both can be seen singing a song.
This video of Elizabeth and Ranu has also spread like fire on social media. The clip features the mother and daughter duo singing ‘Aaj Kal Tere Mere Pyaar Ke Charche’.
Recently, Elizabeth said that she had no idea that her mother earned her living by singing songs at a railway station.
Elizabeth alleged that the club which is currently taking care of Ranu is not allowing her to meet her mother and the members of this club have also threatened her. Elizabeth said, “It seems that Atindra Chakraborty and Tapan Das (club members) are my mother’s real sons. They have threatened me that if I try to meet my mother, they will break my legs.”
“They are not even letting me talk to my mother over phone. They have brainwashed her. I was always in touch with my mother and could not meet her due to my personal problems,” she added.
It is important to note that Elizabeth is now facing backlash from many people for abandoning Ranu in the hour of need and only return after she became famous all across the country.
