Bhubaneswar: A video went viral Monday in which a traffic police personnel was seen engaging in a verbal duel with some bus passengers and public near the over bridge at Jaydev Vihar square here.
After a while another police personnel there tried to snatch away the mobile phone of an onlooker who was shooting the incident.
According to sources, the cops were forcing the passengers to get into a private bus instead of the recently introduced Mo Bus that was also there at the stoppage. The cop-duo was hurling abuses on the driver of the Mo Bus threatening him to leave the spot without ferrying the passengers.
Commissioner of Police Satyajit Mohanty who enquired into the incident said the plying of vehicles on the service route stretched from Jaydev Vihar to Acharya Vihar, was not allowed keeping in view the ongoing Hockey World Cup. However, private buses and Mo Buses were allowed to ply on the road for the convenience of the public. Monday morning, heated verbal arguments ensued as the personnel deployed there refused the Mo Bus to ply on the road. The argument turned violent when a person identifying himself as a reporter started shooting the incident.
