Vigilance raids on Jharigaon LAMP secretary

Nabarangpur/Jharigaon: Vigilance sleuths Tuesday morning conducted simultaneous raids at the residence and seven other places of Gaya Narayan Matia, a large area multi-purpose society (LAMP) secretary of Jharigaon block in Nabarangpur district for amassing assets disproportionate to his known source of income.

The vigilance team, comprising 50 members from Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Rayagada and Nuapada, conducted raids at Gaya’s residences at Surish Padar, Kuhurakote, Belagaon and Jharigaon, maize barnyard, gas godown at Chachha panchayat and the petrol pump at Jharigaon-Umerkote road.

Kalahandi (Bhawanipatna) vigilance DSP Satyaban Mahananda, Nabarangpur DSP Pramod Kumar Bag, Jeypore DSP K K Patra, Rayagada DSP Sushant Kumar Biswal, Nuapada inspector Sibaram Sahoo, Malkangiri inspector Sarat Chnadra Sahoo, Rayagada inspector Kalabati Bagh, Nabarangpur inspector Dinabandhu Behera, Jeypore inspector S K Takri and Pramila Suna were present during the raid.

The value of Gaya Narayan’s amassed wealth is expected to be more than a crore, but the officials are yet to reveal the amount as the raids were on till the arrival of last report.
