Barpali/Bhadrak: Separate teams of Vigilance department Tuesday carried out simultaneous raids at several places linked to a primary agriculture credit society (PACS) secretary in Barpali of Bargarh district and a child development project supervisor in Bhadrak district. The raids were conducted over charges of accumulating assets disproportionate to their own sources of income.
The PACS secretary has been identified as Goura Chandra Buddhia of Kumbhari village under Barpali block in Bargarh district. The raids were simultaneously conducted at his residence at Kumbhari village and his PACS office.
Since the raids were underway, the exact value of his moveable and immovable assets is yet to be ascertained.
Similarly, the supervisor of child development project office (CPDO) in Bhadrak district has been identified as Mallialata Das.
Earlier, several complaints had surfaced against Das. It has been accused that she is involved in illegal activities and amassing properties disproportionate to her known sources of income. Complaints in this regard were lodged with Balasore Vigilance SP.
Following the direction of the SP, three teams comprising sleuths from Bhadrak, Balasore and Keonjhar carried out raids at her residence at Aradi Chowk, office and her parents’ house at Ambhorole in Bhadrak district.
At the time of filing this report, raids were underway.
