Bolangir: Vigilance sleuths raided the residence and office of Junior Engineer Girish Chandra Patra under Deogaon block in Bolangir district Wednesday on charge of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, the Vigilance sources informed.

According to the sources, separate teams of the anti-graft wing from Bolangir, Sambalpur and Sonepur divisions conducted simultaneous raids at his residence at Adarsha Pada and office at Deogaon.
Vigilance officials carried out simultaneous searches at Sambalpur, Bolangir and Sonepur districts. The sleuths are determining the cost of assets owned by him and verifying his bank accounts as well.
Gold jewellery and cash of Rs 80,000 were found in his house. Exact amount of disproportionate assets that the officer has possessed will be ascertained only after completion of raid, said an official.
On the other hand, Patra has refuted the allegations, saying that he has accumulated the properties over 25 years of his service.
