Villagers face elephant menace in Keonjhar

Keonjhar: The forest officials are trying their best to drive away an elephant, which had sneaked into the village Friday night.

According to sources, wild elephants who have been straying into human settlement are giving sleepless nights to the people of Nuagaon panchayat under Sadar block in Keonjhar district.

The jumbos have been damaging hectares of croplands and even attacking people, a villager said.

The residents of Nuagaon, Kendupasi, Gohaldihi, Ratanpur and Birakishorepur are the worst affected, reports said.
