Jajpur: A team from Visa Steel Aakarsh won the gold award at the International Convention on Quality Control Circles-19 (ICQCC), Japan at Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE) in Japan that was held from September 23 to 25.
A total of 358 teams from 50 countries participated in ICQCC’19. This was a proud moment for VISA Steel for representing the company and the country in an international forum.
The journey of Aakarsh team starts from CCQC’18, Bhilai Chapter where the team received a gold award and qualified for NCQC’18 at Gwalior in December 2018 where 560 organisations having 1967 teams participated. The VISA team got the Par Excellence Award and qualified for ICQCC’19, Japan.
Later, a case study abstract was sent to JUSE, Japan out of which 494 case studies were sent from India. Over 135 case study abstracts were accepted by the selection committee among which our team AAKARSH is one of them, a company release said.
The team AAKARSH (quality circle) was represented by Tanoj Padhy, AGM (facilitator), senior engineers Vamsi Sudheer, Pratik Prashant, Jyoti Kalash, and Abhijit Barikr from the Ferro Chrome -2 department.
