Keonjhar: A woman lost her life as a wall caved in on her following torrential rains in Harshpur village under Keonjhar Sadar block of Keonjhar district Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Patu Nayak (30).
The woman was critically injured after a portion of their thatched mud-house collapsed on her following incessant rains over the last couple of days.
According to family members, the incident occurred while she was carrying water. All of a sudden, the wall of her house collapsed on her, critically injuring the woman. Locals rescued and rushed her to the district headquarter hospital but the doctors declared her dead on arrival.
The locals have demanded compensation for her family members.
