While chasing dreams, we often forget to spend time with our parents who have given up everything to make us grow and have all the happiness in our lives. When was the last time you spent some quality time with your parents. Most of us get so busy growing up, that we don’t realise that our parents are growing old too.
While chasing dreams and deadlines with a cup of coffee to keep us company, we quite conveniently keep postponing sipping tea in the balcony with our parents. We don’t realise that there is a clock ticking and that they are growing frailer with every passing day.
According to the study, conducted back in 2012 by the University of California, elders who had adequate companionship have a better quality of life and tend to live longer when compared to those who were lonely.
So, here we list a few things you should do every day to keep them live longer with full energy and strength.
- Take out time from your busy schedule and spend time with your parents.
- Go out with them once in a while
- Spend quality time without getting interrupted with mobile notifications and social media use.
- Research suggests that parents want a loving hug and kiss the most.
- Make them join your daily jobs like exercising, walking, going out, talking to them about little things.
- Gift them little things once in a while which will make them happy.
- Make sure you take care of every little thing of yours as they did for you when you were a child.
- If possible, give them money from your pocket happily so that they can buy themselves something
- At least obey them while they are saying something
- Last but not the least, talk to them for a few minutes before you go to sleep and wish them in the morning.
