The success of Chandrayaan-3 is not a just scientific feat that has put India at the forefront of space exploration but has opened new financial avenues in space industry. Starting off with Chandrayaan-3 itself, where the Government of India has managed to earn nearly Rs 600 crore by selling its scrap till August, which is equivalent to the moon mission’s budget. Reports assume that the numbers are likely to cross Rs 1,000 crore by the end of October.
As per the reports, Government of India is further going to launch a Special Campaign 3.0 between October 2 and 31, primarily focusing on cleanliness and reducing pendency in administration.
An official informed that India had managed to make around Rs 371 crore from a campaign of similar kind in October last year and has a target revenue of Rs 400 crore in October 2023.
The Centre had earned approximately Rs 62 crore in the first campaign in October 2021. Following the previous year’s campaign which ended in November, the cleanliness drive was institutionalised by the Centre as a fixed exercise and has constantly made almost Rs 20 crore every month since then, the official said.
