Mumbai: Cyclone Tauktae caused a lot of devastation to Mumbai and also took many lives.
According to latest reports, it did not spare actor Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film Maidaan’s set.
Reports also stated that the makers tried their best to save the set but the storm was so frightening that all their efforts went in vain. However, no casualties were reported, but the set is no longer worth shooting.
“There were about 40 people on the set when the cyclone hit the Maidaan set – the guards and the curators of the football ground which largely comprises the set tried their best to save as much as they could but their efforts proved almost totally futile,” a source told ETimes.
This is the second time the set of this film has gone bad. Last year also due to the Covid-19 lockdown and the rains the set was dismantled.
The film is helmed by Amit Sharma and produced by Zee Studios in collaboration with Bayview Projects LLP. Shooting commenced 19 August 2019, and the film is scheduled for worldwide release in theatres on 15 October 2021, coinciding with Dussehra weekend.
Apart from the set of the film Maaidan, the storm has also caused huge damage to the sets of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger 3.
