A rare yellow turtle, most likely reported to be an albino, was spotted in Odisha’s Balasore district Sunday and rescued by locals subsequently. Susanta Nanda, a senior offcier of Indian Forest Services shared a short clip, of the yellow turtle swimming in an aquarium, on Twitter which went viral in no time. The yellow colour of the turtle has caught the attention of denizens who seem to be showering great love on the turtle on sveral social media platforms.

 

“A rare yellow turtle was spotted and rescued in Balasore, Odisha yesterday. Most probably it was an albino. One such aberration was recorded by locals in Sindh few years back,” Susanta Nanda said in the post’s caption.

Here’s another picture of the yellow turtle that Susanta Nanda posted. “Close snap of the same. Mark the pink eyes, one indicative feature of albinism,” Nanda added in the caption of the post.

 

 

Netizens were intrigued and shared their thoughts in the comments section of the post. “Wow! That’s awesome. Great find,” a user said. Several others marveled at the beauty of the little reptile.

The locals. after rescuing the yellow turtle, handed it over to the forest department officials, reports said.
