A viral video capturing a street incident that occurred in broad daylight has taken the internet by storm after a wannabe phone snatcher’s ridiculous excuse fell flat in front of alert bystanders.
The viral video, recorded by an observer, shows a man in a loose black T-shirt aggressively approaching a woman in a long jacket on a busy footpath.
Without warning, he lunges at her phone, attempting to snatch it from her hand. Startled, the woman instinctively steps away, dodging the thief’s grasp.

Not one to give up easily, the robber chases her across the street, desperate to get his hands on the device. Just when things seem to take a dangerous turn, a courageous bystander steps in, blocking the thief’s path.

Instead of fleeing, the robber tries an absurd excuse, yelling, “Give me my phone” in a last-ditch effort to cover up his crime. But his deception doesn’t last long. The bystander confronts him, and moments later, the man recording the video joins in, firmly stating, “The woman has taken nothing from you.”
Reddit users have been quick to applaud the two men for standing up against the thief.
“To all the men that stand up for us… even when they don’t have to… even when it could potentially put you in danger, thank you,” one user commented.
Another joked, “Imagine trying to steal a phone and then gaslighting everyone like a pro.”
With social media rallying behind the brave bystanders, this viral video serves as a reminder that standing up against wrongdoing can make all the difference.
