When it comes to civic responsibility and road safety, Indians often fall short of the ideal standards.
In 2022, wrong-side driving caused 9,432 fatalities, and this number rose by 3.7 per cent in 2023, highlighting the grievous nature of road infrastructure and driving sense in India.
The following viral video is doing rounds on social media where an Alto car can be seen rolling on wrong-side at a high speed resulting in a series of collisions on Delhi-Meerut Expressway.

The video shared on ‘X’ by a handle ‘Greater Noida West’ has garnered over 1,63,000 views.

The viral video spanning 19 seconds shows that the Alto driving on the wrong-side rams a two-wheeler and hits another car in the middle of the road halting vehicular movement. Afterwards, the overspeeding Alto turns turtle on the road.

Despite provisioning a hefty penalty ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 1,500, the wrong-side driving remains unabated in India.
