Water level in Baitarani rises

Bhandaripokhari: The water level in river Baitarani in Bhadrak district has started increasing Sunday. At Akhuapada, the water level increased at 5 pm to 16.74 metre against the danger mark at 17.83 metre.

Akhuapada recorded 40.2 mm rainfall; Ananadapur 52.4 mm; Swompatana 55.8 mm; Keonjhar 26.8 mm; Thakurmunda 50.4 mm; and Champua 24.2 mm.

According to sources in the water resources department, the water level is expected to rise close to the danger mark.
