Weather alert: Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar among 12 Odisha districts likely to receive heavy rainfall

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar in its weather alert of July 8 issued a Yellow Warning for heavy rainfall in several districts of Odisha.

Upto 8.30 AM of July 9: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Deogarh districts.

In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of north coastal Odisha, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh and at many places over the remaining districts of the state.

From 8.30 AM of July 9 to 8.30 AM of July 10: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Rayagada and Gajapati districts.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur in many places over the districts of Odisha.

In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 31 degree Celsius and 25 degree Celsius respectively.

In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 35.8 degree Celsius was recorded at Chandbali while the lowest minimum temperature of 22.5 degree Celsius was recorded at Phulbani, the weather alert of July 8 informed.
