Weather alert: Nine Odisha districts likely to experience thunderstorm, says IMD

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar in its weather alert issued a Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha.

Upto 8.30 AM of August 7: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Dhenkanal district.

In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of north Odisha and at a few places over the districts of south Odisha.

From 8.30 AM of August 7 to 8.30 AM of August 8: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Kendrapara districts.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.

In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 33 degree Celsius and 27 degree Celsius respectively.

In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 35.0 degree Celsius was recorded at Paralakhemundi while the lowest minimum temperature of 23.0 degree Celsius was recorded at Phulbani and Nabarangpur, the bulletin informed.
