Different traditions regarding marriage are followed in different parts of the world. In Hinduism, marriage is considered pious. Similar strange traditions (weird wedding rituals) are followed in some areas of India.

It may astonish you, but it is true. Actually, in this place, wedding rituals take place between two boys. These wedding rituals could be seen on Holi eve in Barodiya village, located on the Nimbahera-Dohard highway in Banswara district. Let us know what the reason behind this unique tradition is.

According to the village elders, these customary wedding rituals between two boys are witnessed by the whole village.

Boys are selected for the bride and groom in a very special way for the wedding. Only those boys who have not received the ‘Yagyopavit sanskar’ sacrificial ceremony can become bride and groom.

Both boys are married with all the rituals, and four rounds of fire are made. Along with this, seven promises are given. On the second day after the marriage, the groom and the boys are taken on a bullock cart around the village. After this, people in the village apply colours to each other and celebrate the festival of Holi.

There is a special reason behind the unique tradition regarding marriage in Barodiya village. For years, this village was divided into two parts. People found a unique way to maintain peace and love between the groups. One boy from each village was selected, and a marriage was held. Since then, this tradition has continued.
