Wipro new CFO to take charge April 1

Indo-Asian News Service, Bengaluru, Jan 16: Global software major Wipro Ltd Friday appointed Jatin Dalal as its new chief financial officer (CFO) in place of Suresh Senapaty, who retires March 31.

“Senior vice president (finance) Jatin Dalal will take over the role of CFO from April 1, as Suresh Senapaty retires March 31 on attaining the age of superannuation,” the IT bellwether said in a statement here.

As a chartered accountant, Dalal joined Wipro in 2002 and has been instrumental in taking up diverse assignments in the company’s finance wing and strengthening its financial planning and analysis activities.

Acknowledging Senapaty’s contribution, Wipro chairman Azim Premji said in a statement that the outgoing CFO had been an integral part of the company’s think-tank and has played a catalytic role in taking it to great heights.

“His (Senapaty’s) exemplary contribution has seen Wipro setting new benchmarks in finance, governance and strategy. He has also emerged as a key industry voice, who has championed several governance and policy issues, pertinent to the IT industry,” he said.

Senapaty and Dalal will work together through this quarter to ensure a smooth transition.

“Wipro has been an outstanding place to work, learn and grow. Helping build its finance function and a strong culture of corporate governance are memories that I cherish,” Senapaty said in the statement.
