Witnesses depose in Itishree case

Rayagada, Dec 15: Three more witnesses recorded their statements in the Tikiri Shikhya Sahayika Itishree Pradhan murder case before a court here Monday.
Wife of then headmaster of Tikiri Upgraded Primary School Harapriya Satpathy, husband of a doctor posted at Tikiri health centre Sailendra Kumar Singh and the relative of the main accused in the case Prashant Kumar Mohapatra, who were summoned by the court, deposed before it and recorded their statements.
Harapriya, who was present in the vehicle in which Itishree was shifted from Tikiri to Rayagada district headquarters hospital, told the judge that she had spoken with the victim during the journey. Itishree had told her that an unknown person had asked her to withdraw her complaint against then inspector of schools, Netrananda Dandasena. As she had refused to do so, the person had poured kerosene on her and set her on fire.
Prashant was summoned as Netrananda’s mobile phone was recovered from his house.
The court will continue hearing the case the next three days.
