Koraput: A woman died after being hit by a goods train at Dumuriput railway station under town police limits of Koraput Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Subhadra Sarangi. She is the wife of Kedarnath Dash who works at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Sunabeda.

According to reports, Kedarnath, Subhadra and their five-year-old son Aabhanshu boarded Bhubaneswar-Jagdalpur Hirakhand Express from Padmapur and alighted at Dumuriput station. From Dumuriput, they were to go to Sunabeda. After getting down from the train, they were crossing the other line to catch an auto-rickshaw. Kedarnath and Aabhanshu had crossed the line, but Subhadra was not lucky enough. Before she could sense anything, a goods train coming on the same track hit her.

Kedarnath immediately rushed her in the same auto-rickshaw waiting for them to HAL hospital where the doctors declared her dead on arrival.
