Bahanaga: A woman died after she was mowed down by a sand-laden truck at Karanjabindha on Jageswarpada-Gilida road under Bahanaga block in Balasore district Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Jyotna Behera (35) of Aguhabad village.
According to reports, Jyotsna and her daughter was travelling to Gopalpur bazaar on her scooty when the truck hit her from behind following which she died on the spot.
Irked locals waylaid the truck and staged a road blockade demanding compensation for the bereaved family.
