Woman killed in Joda, hubby detained

Joda, August 6: Even as local police are investigating into a robbery and a stabbing case, another murder took place Wednesday night.
A woman, identified as Gurubari Behera, was killed at her residence at Sahidnagar. Her throat was slit with a sharp-edged weapon. A complaint was lodged by her husband Shibshankar Behera with police Thursday.
Behera alleged that when they were about to go to sleep last night, a miscreant barged into the room and pounced upon his wife.
The miscreant slit her throat with a knife. He along with local people had taken her to Tata hospital where she died.
Police reached the spot and started an investigation and detained Shibshankar as a suspect.
Later Keonjhar ASP Dillip Kumar Sahani along with a forensic team visited the village for further investigation.
Police found inconsistencies in her husband’s statement and detained him.
