Woman loses leg as hubby pushes her from moving train

Jajpur: In a horrific incident, a man pushed his middle-aged wife from a moving train near Jenapur railway station here Sunday night.

The injured woman was identified as Sabitri Das of Mundamal. The indent occurred when Sabitri was on her way back to Jajpur from Balasore with her alcoholic husband Rabi. They were supposed to alight at Jajpur Road station but a scuffle ensued between them over a family matter following which Rabi allegedly pushed her from the moving train.

While the woman miraculously survived, her left leg was cut off from below the knee. She was rushed to Jajpur Road CHC and was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack when her condition worsened.

Meanwhile, Rabi, who is a resident of West Bengal, is reportedly absconding.
