Bhubaneswar: A woman employee of a private security organization was brutally raped allegedly by her senior colleague 22 February. After spending two days at the Master Canteen Railway station platform, she Monday mustered courage to lodge a complaint with Mahila Police station.
According to sources, the victim is a resident of Bantala village under Bantala Police station limits in Angul. The woman used to stay with her uncle after her parents passed away a few years ago. A couple of years back; she joined as a security guard in a city-based private security company and got posted at Dhenkanal. Later, she was transferred to Talcher and from there to Jharsuguda. The accused, Samir, who was her senior colleague in the same firm, often used to call her and discuss several matters related to the company. He said that he hailed from Bihar.
Subsequently, Samir asked her to go to Cuttack as a post is lying vacant there. He also promised her a raise in salary. She reached Cuttack 22 February. A person identified as Babula, who is also an employee of the company, took her from the Badambadi bus stand. He left her at a park in Cuttack and asked her to wait till Samir reached there.
Few hours later, Babula asked her to come to Bhubaneswar as Samir wanted to meet her here. She first denied but later agreed when Babula threatened her to remove her from the job. She came with Babula in his motor cycle. Babula left her at Samir’s residence in Deta Colony area saying that he had some work at office.
However, Samir then locked her up in a room and forcefully raped her many times by tying her with rope. He did not give her food and later left her at Master Canteen station. Penniless at that time, victim stayed at the station for two days and at last lodged a complaint Monday. Police has registered a case (25/19) based on her complaint and investigation is underway.
