Woman, teen found dead on railway tracks in Rourkela

Rourkela: The government railway police (GRP) recovered the bodies of a woman and a teenager from the railway tracks near Panposh area here in Sundargarh district Friday.

The deceased was Asish Mahato (18), a resident of Purulia area of West Bengal, while the identity of the woman was yet to be established. Aged around 30, the woman had attempted suicide twice Thursday but she was prevented by a rail cabin man, it is learnt.

The investigations have begun and the bodies were sent for post-mortem, police said. “The relationship between the two is yet to be established. We are questioning locals to get some leads,” said a police official.
