Kalinganagar: The body of a married woman was found hanging from the ceiling of her room at Goverdhanpur village under Tamaka police limits in Jajpur district Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Lipika Behera, wife of Ajay Behera.
Family members of the woman have alleged that she was being tortured and was later killed by her husband and in-laws over dowry.
However, husband of the victim has refuted the allegation and said that she committed suicide over some other family issue.
On being informed, police reached the spot and seized the body for post-mortem. Based on the complaint lodged by the family members of the victim, police also registered a case bearing case no. 66/19. Investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of her death, they said.
