Angul: Tension prevailed at Hatibari area under Tikarpada Forest Range in Angul district following the death of a woman in a tiger attack.
The irate locals torched Tikarpara range office, Hatibari beat house and five boats of the forest department Wednesday night.
Many vehicles were stranded on the Tikarpada-Angul road. The vehicular movement was disrupted after locals staged road blockade near Hatibari area.
According to sources, the deceased woman identified as Kailashi Garnaik of Hatibari village was killed by Royal Bengal tigress ‘Sundari’ when she had gone to take bath in a nearby pond.
Later family members found her body from the forest Wednesday.
