Bhubaneswar: Bureaucrat-turned-politician Aparajita Sarangi is once again in news for her diktat to BJP workers at a meeting whose video has gone viral in social media.
In the video, Aparajita is seen standing at a party meeting and coming down heavily on the party workers for creating factions within the party. She also asked them to leave the party, if they don’t want to work in unison for the BJP.
“Instead of making strategies to win the polls, why are you indulged in groupism? Why don’t you say that you are from the Bhartiya Janata Party? Whoever will be the candidates fielded by the party, it is our duty to make them win, or else you quit the party,” she said.
“Don’t you feel ashamed of the party’s loss time and again,” she asked the workers.
The former bureaucrat said, “I am telling you, I don’t belong to anyone’s group in the BJP. I have joined the party after realising the party’s stand on the development and being inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. And you will see I will not be linked with any particular person or group in the party in the next 25 – 30 years.”
This message of Aparajita somehow indicates that ‘groupism’ is there within the party. It seems that the ex-IAS officer is using her oratory skills to unite the party before the 2019 polls and she is also visiting various places across the state.
State BJP vice-president Samir Mohanty said he is unaware of the video and will be able to comment after having a discussion with Sarangi in this regard.
