BHUBANESWAR: A one-day workshop on ‘Golden Technology in Modern Endodontics’ was organised by Kalinga Institute of Dental Science in association with IDA Odisha at the auditorium of Kalinga Institute of Dental Science here Wednesday.
Such a workshop was organised for the first time in the capital by Nikhil Bahuguna. The workshop on ‘Advance Endodontics’ includes lecture and video presentation on Protaper Gold, X smart motor, advanced apex locator propex pixi and Raypex-6.
The main aim of the workshop is to simply the dental practice for the day to day work. The participants will be MDS and BDS practitioner. The workshop is aimed at taking endodontics to next level. The outcome of root canal treatment hinges on a multitude of factors which dicate clinical success and failure.
The ladder climbs up from diagnosing the cause to effectively managing, disinfecting and treating the endodontics lesion to start with. A good root canal treatment is just the beginning. Achieving a 30 apical seal starts the story but the culmination is a good coronal seal and a good definitive restoration on the top securing all the portals of entry and exit of the bacteria within the root canal system.
Bahuguna said, “Dentistry has reached a new spectrum with the advancement in modern technology. Therefore, one of the reasons why patients are concerned to seek dental treatment is to improve their dental appearance. The main target for the dental professionals of this era is to reach their satisfaction level with an appropriate treatment plan. The natural layering concept and directed veneer system are the quintessence of esthetics for direct composite restorations.”
Nikhil Bahuguna graduated from Bharti Vidyapeeth Dental College and hospital, Pune in 2001, and completed his MDS in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics in 2004 from Bapuji Dental College and hospital, Davangere. He has presented many scientific presentations and won many awards for scientific paper and poster presentations at national and international level.
