Bhubaneswar: The US Consulate Hyderabad organised a day-long workshop on social entrepreneurship and gender equality at Bakul Foundation, here Friday. Cynthia Hellen was the key speaker.
Founder and CEO of ‘SMPLCT Lab’; (pronounced simplicity), Cynthia encouraged women of diverse age groups and occupations to narrate their stories to the world through drawings where no text is written.
Interacting with Orissa POST Helen said, “The challenges before women are the same globally. It doesn’t change, but we all must unite together and share our stories to find the right solution. Entreprenuership is not a dream. It’s a reality where you have to come out of your comfort zone in order to achieve success.”
Helen who has been a pioneer in encouraging women entrepreneurs showed videos of real women globally, who have made a difference with their entrepreneurship.
Through her enterprise Cynthia works across a broad spectrum of industries, including education, energy, healthcare, media and technology.
“Using human-centered, design strategy – fieldwork, storytelling, iterative and exploratory design and prototyping – we deliver products, services and experiences that change not only the way we tackle local and global challenges but break perception on poverty,” she said, while elaborating on her work.
