Bhubaneswar: Regional Science Centre in Bhubaneswar Saturday organised an interactive session on ‘Camera And Its Journey’ with Debasis Chatterjee- a renowned photographer working for Odisha State Archaeology.

In order to inform the science behind photography, a team of professionals from Cannon India Pvt Ltd, Bhubaneswar interacted with students and showed various techniques used in photography.

The centre jointly organised a beautiful collection-based exhibition on ‘Camera: Antiquity To Modernity’ with 3 Gen Production House, Bhubaneswar.

The exhibition showcased rare collections to depict the story of camera and its transformation from plate camera to film roll camera and digital ones. The programme was attended by more than 150 students from various schools along with many enthusiasts who interacted with experts to explore the technical aspects of photography, advancements in equipment and the evolution of photographic techniques.

Regional Science Centre Project Coordinator Kapil Jain said he was hopeful of organising such programme at a larger scale in the future for creating science and technology awareness among the masses.

It may be mentioned here that World Photography Day is observed every year August 19. This day highlights photography as a legitimate form of art, encouraging photographers to experiment with different techniques, compositions and styles.

Regional Science Centre Bhubaneswar, a unit of the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), is the first regional-level science centre in the state of Odisha. Since its inception, the centre has been attracting a large number of visitors, especially school students, from all over the state.
