BHUBANESWAR: Flash Mob, a large public gathering where participants perform an unusual or seemingly random act and then disperse, are becoming a popular form of promoting events and messages in Bhubaneswar.
Such gatherings are typically oraganised through the social media. In recent times, youth from various colleges participate in such events to espouse multiple ideas. One can easily witness groups from various colleges or institutes conducting a Flash Mob at popular shopping destinations like Forum Mart, Pal Heights and BMC Bhawani Mall among other places. Such destinations are chosen due to the presence of a sizeable audience.
Recently, the students of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, performed flash mob on the premises of BMC Bhawani Mall. The aforementioned event espoused the message of road safety. About 60 students of AIIMS danced on different songs in an open space of the mall to spread awareness on this subject.
The students of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) recently performed a flash mob at Esplanade mall for promoting their annual fest Xpressions-2018.
Shoppers at the mall were taken by surprise when the students suddenly started dancing to the tunes of hit numbers. The mall came to a standstill within minutes and the audience grew manifolds. Each one among them was trying to catch a glimpse of the unique event. The enthusiasm and energy of the audience as well as students made the flash mob a huge success.
