Bhubaneswar: Xavier University Bhubaneswar organised its flagship event—Khwahishin in association with X-Stage, the cultural committee of XUB here Tuesday. As a part of activities, the students of the university visited The Mother Teresa Rehabilitation Centre at Janla in order to celebrate the day with the elderly, physically challenged and patients suffering from tuberculosis and leprosy.
According to the participants Khwahish upheld the spirit of volunteerism and saw the enthusiastic participation of a large number of XUB students.
For the initiative, articles of household use (such as mattresses, pillows, mugs, buckets and dustbins) were donated to the rehabilitation centre. Members of the cell also organised an interactive session with those residing at the centre in the form of a series of cultural events. The students of XUB worked hard to bring a tinge of happiness in the lives of the residents of the rehabilitation centre.
The students also entertained people of the Centre with many cultural activities. The event concluded with the exchange of pleasantries between the students and those at the centre.
