Bhubaneswar, Feb 10: Yazdani-73 club entered the final of 17th Tata-Utkalika football tournament defeating Cuttack Sports Hostel 4-1 via the tie-breaker at the Unit-VI ground here Tuesday. The match ended goalless in regulation time.
In an exciting encounter both sides had a number of scoring opportunities in the first half and the match wouldn’t have gone to tie-breaker had the strikers utilised the chances that came their way. The second session however, turned out to be a drab affair with play more or less restricted to the midfield
In the ensuing shoot-out Sunil Marandi, Sk Zahid, Santosh Tudu and Kedar Singh scored for Yazdani while Niranjan Sardar was the lone scorer for Cuttack Sports Hostel. Dilip Kindo of Yazdani was adjudged the man of the match.
