Bhubaneswar: Going out on a first date? It needs a lot of confidence. Today’s youth often find it difficult to break ice or to strike up a conversation with the date. Beginning the talk with a gift is another wonderful way many do to familiarise with the date. Orissa Post talked to some professionals, students and models to know about their first date gifts.
Ishaan (Businessman) – Yeah, it was exciting to go out with a girl, and in fact I had gifted my girlfriend a necklace and a rose. It was quite romantic as I planned my first date at Dhaulagiri.
Isha Rath (Architect) – I met my boyfriend at a marketplace and one day we decided to go on a date. The very feeling of first date is pretty nostalgic, so I gifted him a hand-made card with my pictures inside. In return, he also gave me an aqua colour bracelet.
Satyajit Bal (B.Tech student, KIIT) – The best gift I have given my girlfriend is respect and yes my undivided attention. I also gifted a cute little teddy bear to her.
Shreyali Mohanty (MBBS student) – My first date was romantic and I gifted him a cake baked by me. In fact, I always love to present hand-made stuff to my partner.
Ayesha Patra (B.Tech student, KIIT) – I haven’t dated anyone, but if I ever go on a date, then I would like to take selfie with him an instant picture from my camera to make the occasion memorable. I would also like to give roses, chocolates and hand-made cards to my boyfriend.
Anisha Dash (B.Tech student, KIIT) – I will gift my personal diary to my boyfriend on our first date to make it more memorable as I believe a relationship should be fully transparent.
Sourav Chakravorthy (Theatre personality) – Well, on my first date I was pretty nervous, but my girlfriend’s loving smile made it perfect. I gifted her a bunch of roses with chocolates and a card.
Swarna Prava Sethy (Anchor) – My first date with my boyfriend was very special as we could talk for a long time. I gifted him a pair of Rayban sunglasses, a watch and some flowers.
