Youngsters revel in ‘Mehfeel’

BHUBANESWAR: An open-mic event ‘Jashn-e-Mehfeel 8.0’ witnessed a flock of around 100 hearts passionately sharing the emotions inside them at Galaxia Garden here recently. The event was sponsored by a restaurant chain We The Foodies.

The brainchild of Shivam Priyadarshi and co-founders Subhradeep Nath, Swati Rani and Shraddha Dora, Mehfeel is a cultural society which provides a platform for the ones who wish to pick up the mic and give wings to the artiste, poet or storyteller inside them.

Inaugurated February 25, 2018, with 12 members, the group has come a long way from its first open-mike event. The event was graced by eminent personalities like Gayatri Mavaru, Director at Cherry Blossoms pre-school, Pravachan Tripathy, poet at Hindi literary society, RJ Umang Rajput of 93.5 RedFM and Ankush Mehta, a well-known young poet. 40 performers added gloss to the event with their heart touching performances.

The beauty of the evening increased when all present on the occasion danced to the tunes of the guest singer Anurag Kriti. The success of the event is not only the contribution of the artiste but also the sweating efforts of the executive team – Akshita Agarwal, Soham Chatterjee, Ankash Panda and many others.

The whole event was themed as a tribute to the brave hearts of India (soldiers) and cherished the celebration of Women’s Day. Besides the tribute, the event has its devotion towards the noble cause. Last but not the least, the event has its memories in the cameras of skilled cinematographers who are a part of the Mehfeel family comprising of 52 members, who are putting their best efforts with all their professionalism and perseverance.
