Keonjhar: A youth reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree at Chikinia village near Ghatagaon in this district Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Makuru Mohanta, son of Raiter Mohanta from the same village.
Makuru, who had his dinner and retired to his room Wednesday night, was missing from home in the wee hours of Thursday.
While family members launched a frantic search for him, local people spotted his body hanging from a tree.
On being informed, Ghatagaon Police reached the spot and seized the body for post-mortem.
The reason for suicide is yet to ascertained, a police official said.
