Malkangiri: The Sadar police Friday arrested a person for allegedly raping a 21-year-old girl at Gangala village under the police limits.
The arrested was identified as, Urianka Khara, 25, a resident of the village. According to sources, Khara had developed physical relationship with the victim promising her of marriage. He continued the act until the girl became pregnant and later denied to marry her.
Finding no other option, the victim filed a written complaint with the police, based on which the police arrested Khara and forwarded him to court.
